Making ExamineKeyboard() allow opening of dev tools?

I ran the keyboard library example using the latest Firefox on Windows, and it works. However, I can't press control shift I to access the dev tools, or even press alt+d to go to the address bar! It seems to be eating all the keyboard shortcuts not in use directly by my screen reader. Is there any way around this?
