So, if you tell me, you have 1.8.0_221 installed, you dont mean the JDK, but JRE?

Oracle changed their licensing after version 8 so you will see many not using 11 and 14.

Ok, thank you Paul! With jdk-8u251-windows-x64.exe it just works!
Maybe this Java version is also the solution for the problem with building the iOS apps. I will report
@Fred: could you please include a Java version check, because there is no indication why the app creation stops at 60%.
