Forum - Some suggestions

Post by c4s »

I'm sure some of it is already on your todo list but anyway here are some suggestions:
  • It seems that private messages are globally disabled, enable them
  • Add a favicon
  • Add links to the PureBasic forum and vice versa
  • Make the forum style more "modern" and responsive - currently it just looks like something from the 2005's (which is pretty old for a modern programming language)
  • If you plan to make additional forums for other languages include them here using sub-forums - that way the "knowledge" will be focused in one place and the community will be stronger I guess
  • Don't put any third-party ads on the website - it simply doesn't look and feel good for a commercial product
  • Add SpiderBasic syntax highlighting for the code tags
  • Allow uploads of (small) files (screenshots, project files etc.) - downloading only for members if bandwidth is a concern
  • Add something like a more sophisticated bug/feature tracking functionality
Since it's a completely new set up forum some things should be made better from the start on. In my opinion specially the last three points are pretty important.
