Disable Automatic Mobile Responsizeness (Handcoding Sizing)

by DanLJr Sat Dec 08, 2018 3:27 pm

Fred, Peter, Et Al,

Could someone point me in the right direction as to how to DISABLE the build-in mobile responsiveness handling when you create SB apps? (I've hand-coded object resizing and repositioning for all gadgets and fonts to handle any screen-size for my app, and it works perfect in local dev, but when I create and app and run it from a "real" server, it is doing additional screen resizing and it's seriously conflicting with my hand-coded resizing code.)

Am I misunderstanding?

Thoughts? Any help?

Thanks!

I was asking the wrong question, but this seemed to do the trick for the most part:

I use :
Code: Select all
! $('head').prepend('<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, height=device-height, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1, minimum-scale=1, user-scalable=no" />');

I tried the suggestion above (Thanks!) but I experienced a few odd behaviors on one of my programs compared to the old way. So, I'm still using:

Code: Select all
;// No Zoom
! var meta = document.createElement('meta');
! meta.name = "viewport";
! meta.content = "width=device-width, user-scalable=no";
! document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(meta);

...as my preferred way to stop zoom on mobile devices.

However, and regardless of which of the above code blocks I use to stop zooming, I still experience a serious problem on iPhone and iPad Safari (haven't tested on Android) where whenever you try to click into a textbox (StringGadget and sometimes EditorGadget) the keyboard bounces back down immediately and doesn't "want" to stay engaged. Click and hold works to force it but then stuff can't be seen (and of course simple click just needs to work like an app/site!).

It's just popup mobile keyboard craziness on what otherwise is a perfectly resizing app for any screen!!!

Any help, thoughts???

Some months ago, I've also posted this behavior:

Unfortunately there seems to be no solution or an workaround yet..

The good news: since May 2018 the Dojo Framework is available in version 2.0 and the demo pages work perfectly on the iPhone:

I added my two cents as well on the other post…

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1555&p=5719#p5719

This is absolutely necessary functionality, and the app I recently built that I'm trying to take live for a customer can never be released if this isn't fixed. (Almost every one at the customer is an iOS user, as are a large majority of their customers that will be using this app.)

This is a real problem, as I am against the wall with a "finished" product (except for this iOS pop-up keyboard problem with StringGadgets) that I can't release, and I'm on a super-tight timeline… My customer is expecting release of v1 pretty much RIGHT NOW.

Please help!!!
