Post by Fred »

Hi everyone,

A new bug fix version of SpiderBasic is available on your account. It also bring quite some IDE enhancement from PureBasic opensource contributions:

- Fixed IDE Crash on MacOS with TouchBar: https://github.com/fantaisie-software/p ... c/pull/110
- New editor shortcuts (upper/lower/invert case): https://github.com/fantaisie-software/p ... c/pull/107
- Add option to auto-wrap Find at end of file: https://github.com/fantaisie-software/p ... c/pull/106
- Prevent crash when opening a Project (kenmo): https://github.com/fantaisie-software/purebasic/pull/99
- Fix autocomplete on Linux (mk-soft): https://github.com/fantaisie-software/purebasic/pull/94
- New indentation option (Shardik): https://github.com/fantaisie-software/purebasic/pull/87

Don't hesitate to test it, we don't expect much regressions.

Have fun,

The Fantaisie Software Team

I've tested the Beta version for almost 3 months now, it's working perfectly, is there any update with the official release?

Oops, a new post... after more than one year!
Oh yes, there was something... Spiderbasic. Or shouldn't we better rename it to "SleepingBasic"?

In the area of PureBasic there is a lot of progress.

But what is the medium-term plan for the development of Spiderbasic?
Fred, can you give an update (or just make a decision, even if it should be painful)?

I know that as a one-man-show you can't always take care of everything, but I would like to know if we have to ask every year what will happen after the 2.32 beta 1.

If I had known beforehand that SpiderBasic would not be developed further, I probably would not have bought it.

If no further development takes place at all, then the use of the product is honestly no longer meaningful at some point. Especially since there is still a lot of potential for improvement in certain areas for SpiderBasic to raise it to the same level as PureBasic.

Agreed. I'd rather a painful end than endless pain.

I really tried to be patient and indulgent. However, waiting and waiting and having my own time going by withouth progress is not feasable. Ergo: I have to move on to another tool.

Based on this and the progress on PB, I think it still worth waiting: viewtopic.php?p=8517#p8517
