I'm running fully patched W10 Pro x64 and got a smartscreen warning from windows when I launched the SB 2.10 B1 installer from Chrome download.

I get unsigned PE off the internet all the time and this is the first time I've seen it. Something might match a byte sequence even though it's not malicious.

I load my own PE on w10 VMs a lot too.

It would probably depend on how the program is packed - a ZIP file wont, but a self-extracting set of files will...

I know UPX and PECompact don't trigger it and they are used by a lot of malware and warez.

It's weird because I've had a lot of things download and run on patched windows 10 boxes and this is the first time I've ever seen a smartscreen filter popup, and from a Chrome download no less..

Once it's hash gets in that registry key where known binaries are logged it doesn't happen anymore though, so not really a problem.
