SpiderBasic, Cordova and macOS 10.15 - does it really work?

by Giansauna Fri Apr 17, 2020 9:43 am

Building iOS apps is a hard task - I was warned. I fail at the very first hurdle: interaction of Cordova and SpiderBasic. :(
I just downloaded the latest SpiderBasic for macOS and built a simple iOS app with one view, a button and a text field. It does run nice and fast in Safari browser. But it is not possible to build a iOS app of it. I end up with the following error message of the compiler:
Cordova doesn't seems to be installed. Would you like to launch the SpiderBasic setup script to install required components (your approval will be asked before doing anything).

I did run the install script within SpiderBasic - more than once. Each time, it told me the following at the end:
Cordova installation finished, SpiderBasic is ready to use.

But SpiderBasic is not ready at all. It just isn't aware of Cordova. Is SpiderBasic not tested on the latest macOS? What can I do to get a hint what's going wrong here?

My system: macOS 10.15.4, Xcode 11.4.1 (command line tools installed), SpiderBasic 2.30, Cordova 9.0.0
