[Done] 2.21 : Create iOS app stops at 60%

Hi,

there are some other postings here about stopping the creation of an iOS app at 60% in Mojave and due to changes in Xcode 10, that seems to break something in Cordova and its iOS build.

I tried everything in installing different Node.js, Cordova and Cordova-iOS, every time at "Creating app: 60%" SpiderBasic simply shows "App build failed", and at this time the /tmp/spiderbasic-..... directory is deleted, so that I can't do any debugging. And I don't know how to start an iOS create through command line of SpiderBasic.

Although I seem to be successful in copying a "compiled" web app directory in a blank created Cordova "app", building this and then working further with Xcode, it would be really nice, if this bug from last September 2018 would be fixed before the next MacOS and Xcode version....

You can try to manually install "Cordova iOS 5.0.0" who now "Supports Xcode 10 New Build System" : https://cordova.apache.org/announcement ... 5.0.0.html

Otherwise, you effectively can copy a "compiled" web app directory in a blank created Cordova "app", this is what i use to be able to build iOS Apps.

Hi Niffo,

thank you, I tried installing cordova-ios 5.0.0, but it doesn't solved the problem, SpiderBasic stops compiling at 60%.

The only way is to copy the web app in a Cordova and then build it there or using Xcode for compile.

But i bought SpiderBasic for its feature of "making Android AND iOS apps", so I think there should be some interest of Fred in solving this. If I can help, I'm willing to debug, but for this I think it would help to have a good logging of the "compile process" SpiderBasic uses.

Same goes with SB and Windows 10 (Android build).
"App build failed" at 60%.

@Peter53: Did you try other Windows versions? I actually had no problems two weeks ago in building Android apps using Spider Basic 2.21 (32-Bit) at Windows 7 Pro 32-Bit with Java SDK 8.202 32-Bit.

@Fred: Are there any chances, that we can get a logging/debug for the app building process ASAP? For iOS this problem now exists for too long time, and for me it looks like you simply ignored it with the last big bug fix session for 2.21?

It should work flawlessly using Windows 10.
Edit: Downloaded SB 2.00 from the museum had an old version of jdk: version jdk1.8.0_191

Using these two, I was able to create Android apk files using Windows 10
which runs just fine .

So I'll stick with this untill the team gets the newer version fixed.

As there was NO reaction from the developers for a lot of month now, I just installed a VM with macOS 10.13, installed the 9.4.1 Xcode and its command line tools, set everything up with our Apple developer account, installed NodeJS and Cordova, but everything is the same in compiling:

The compile stops at 60% without any additional error message!

So, as we are only about 1 1/2 month away of the next macOS and Xcode version, I really have to ask if the developers at all have any interest in getting their SpiderBasic doing the job that I bought AND PAID them for?! :(

Hello,

I also have the same problem of 60% on a Mac mini end 2012, Mojave reinstalled to nine on a new ssd.

I hope it will become easy to create iOS programs easily soon.

I do not think that's impossible.
